Walt Johnston, managing director, has been involved in the percussion industry for over 45 years. He was instrumental in bringing Pearl Drums into the United States under their own name in the late 50"s and became President of Pearl International in 1979. After some nine years with Pearl, he spent nine years in Minnesota as general manager of Purecussion, Inc., a company dedicated to the distribution of the RIMS drum mounts. Walt consulted with the Gretsch and Slingerland Drum Companies briefly before forming his own business with his wife, Arliss and his daughter Mikki.

Arliss Johnston has been a director of Worldmax USA since its inception. In a small family business, everybody does a little of everything, and you will find her taking orders over the phone, filling orders, and packing and shipping them. She also does a lot of the paperwork involving invoicing and filing. Custodial work also seems to find its way to her! With much sadness we must report that Arliss Johnston passed away July 13, 2008. To find a link to her memorial site please visit news in our link section.

Mikki Johnston is the office manager, making sure all office functions run smoothly. She is also learning the business from her father Walt. She plans on keeping WorldMax USA running for a long time! All billing inquiries should be directed to her.

Maggie Kampa joined us in 2007 and along with Wendy Fike keeps the warehouse running smoothly. They are also being trained to back up Mikki in the Office and are taking phone orders.

Mike Henry owns HP Custom Drums (a custom drum manufacturer). He and his partner Donna Fisher own and operate the Percussion Center, Houston's largest retail drum shop. Mike has been playing drums for 40 years, and also distributes Worldmax International's drums, stands, and pedals in the United States and Canada. Worldmax US can sell O.E.M stands and pedals to other custom drum builders at factory direct prices giving them the opportunity to furnish complete kits versus shell packs only. He may be reached at 713-468-9100, emailed at HiHatInc@aol.com, or click on his web site, www.worldmaxdrums.com .
